You're Invited! All Our Kin Event in NYC

On January 19th, All Our Kin is hosting an exciting event in New York City. The event will feature a presentation on the economic impact of child care licensing initiatives on child care providers, low-income parents, and children. Speakers include Dr. Shyama Venkateswar from the National Council for Research on Women and Helen Blank from the National Women's Law Center. Closing the Achievement Gap in Connecticut

On Monday, I testified on behalf of the organization I work for, All Our Kin, at Connecticut's Achievement Gap Task Force Meeting. The achievement gap in Connecticut between  low-income and non-low-income students is the largest in the country, so obviously this is a critical issue. Read my testimony here. Did You Know....?

Did you know that many baby girls, at around 2 or 3 days old, have an inaugural menstrual period? It is caused by the loss of hormones she was exposed to in her mother's womb.

I learned about this fun fact while reading this powerful article, and my mind was blown. I had no idea!
